The figure at left shows the bottom of a custom probe
designed to measure the concentration of solids in a slurry. The probe was designed to fit through a
flanged port at the top of a mixing vessel. It operated like the PCM clamp-on mounts for pipe wall
installation, but the design sealed the sensors behind walls of stainless steel
to protect the sensors from the hazardous slurry mixture. The same
electronic monitor measured the solids concentration in the mix
in real time while material was fed into the vessel.
Because of the unique, non-intrusive capabilities of ultrasound, Applied
Sonics can adapt the fluid measurement technology to many difficult
applications. Please contact us if you have special process monitoring
needs.
