A borosilicate glass vial for use with the SCA is pictured at right. This container is compatible with a wide variety of sample materials, and provides a relatively uniform width along the entire container height .  Because of manufacturing variations the uniformity is not as good as the plastic or stainless containers.  However, these vials are inexpensive and provide good accuracy for settling measurement.  Vial sizes from 10 to 60 ml are available.
